The Art of Kathy Ostman-Magnusen

I embrace passion. My art explores the atmosphere revealed by our emotions; the anticipation of a first kiss, the fragrance of an infant’s breath, the magic of flight at sunrise. To me there is only art. It is all that I am and all that I think about. It drives me, makes me crazy and surprisingly soothes me at bedtime. I continue to explore my own emotions and of people who succumb to theirs. We live in a world of transformation, so fragile. I am compelled to try to record all the chaos as well as the swell of calmness in the eyes of those I paint and sculpt.

Renowned artist Kathy Ostman-Magnusen lives on the island of Hawaii where she paints and sculpts. Her wonderful figurative work has been shown and celebrated through the islands and the world.
